Some rides stay with you forever.
The ones that begin in the quiet of a backstreet and end in a café with salt on your skin and dust on your legs.
The ones that show you a different side of yourself.
In Girona, every route has the potential to be that ride.
A Cyclist’s Playground
It’s no secret: Girona is one of the world’s great cycling destinations. What makes it special isn’t just the roads — it’s the diversity. The choices. The fact that from the same bike shop door, you can ride smooth tarmac, endless gravel, coastal switchbacks or remote valleys.
At Tomata, we don’t just rent bikes.
We ride here. Every week.
And these are the routes we keep coming back to.
🛣️ Road Cycling Routes – For the Purists
1. Els Àngels Loop
Distance: 55km | Climb: 900m
Start in town, climb through cork forests to the Santuario dels Àngels (where Dalí married), descend toward Madremanya, and loop back. Smooth, quiet, perfect.
2. Coastal Classic to Tossa de Mar
Distance: 90km | Climb: 1,300m
Roll south to Llagostera, then hit the coast road — one of the most beautiful stretches of tarmac in Europe. Sea on your right, sun on your back.
3. Rocacorba Challenge
Distance: Variable | Climb: 970m (just the climb)
A climb with a cult following. Brutal gradients. Epic views. If you know, you know.
Gravel Cycling Routes – For the Explorers
1. Gavarres Wild Loop
Distance: 65km | Climb: 1,100m
Gravel heaven. Ride from Girona into dense Mediterranean forest, climb up ancient fire roads, and descend through cork and pine trails. Silent. Magical.
2. Llémena Valley Explorer
Distance: 80km | Climb: 1,200m
Remote and rolling, this route winds west of the city into a lesser-known landscape. Gravel mixed with tarmac, perfect for all-day discovery.
3. Medieval Villages Mix
Distance: 70km | Climb: 800m
Connect villages like Monells, Madremanya and Sant Sadurní on mixed terrain. History under your wheels, Catalan charm all around.
